BuildForce, set up in 2016 to help the ex-military community into construction careers, is delighted to report they will now be working in partnership with The Royal Foundation, the primary charitable vehicle of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Following the success of their Armed Forces Construction Industry Insight days in the North and South, BuildForce will be hosting an additional event early next year in the Midlands supported by The Royal Foundation. These events are an excellent opportunity for Service Leavers and Veterans to meet a number of key industry employers and receive career and training guidance, CV review and expert advice on the use of social media, interview technique and nationwide pipeline opportunities.
About BuildForce
The construction industry has a huge shortage of skilled workers and many of the 14,000 personnel leaving the Armed Forces each year have skills sets that are directly transferable to the construction industry.
BuildForce is a highly successful Alliance of over 80 employers and supporters, part-funded by CITB; connecting Service Leavers and Veterans to job opportunities in construction whilst providing Industry employers access to a unique talent pool of ex-military personnel.
BuildForce, which is managed and delivered by Ethos, offers 1-2-1 mentoring to all ranks of serving personnel and Veterans, including guidance on identifying transferable skills, training, CV review and access to work placements and job opportunities.
Celebrating its 100th successful job start in July 2018, the programme has to date connected with over 800 Service Leavers and Veterans nationwide; inducted 359, mentored 385, placed 118 in jobs and 106 in work placements.
