Hello my name is Elysia, I am a Young Leader working here Ethos, entering my fifth month employed as part of the DWP kickstart scheme. Currently I’m training as a scrum master for the Ethos Thames Valley Violence Reduction Unit project, meaning I chair our weekly sprint planning meetings and oversee the backlog of activity we’re presently working on. Additionally, I have experience of event planning after scrumming for this year's winter business review that took place in December. Both of these work packages have given me the opportunity to experience an area of work that could potentially otherwise be inaccessible to a 21 year old with no prior knowledge of professional practises. Since my time with Ethos I have further developed a variety of skills including external partner communication, relationship building and management, and the skill to work towards and meet deadlines. Overall, employment at Ethos has allowed me to grow in confidence and ability.
