The SkillsPlanner project to solve the skills gap within the construction industry continues to gather impressive momentum with more high profile support, more media coverage and an official launch event in the capital.
SkillsPlanner is a collaborative project, spearheaded by Ethos, that involves over 30 industry, training, Government and brokerage organisations. A two-year, £1.3m research and development programme, focused on London, will create a linked data platform to share skills data in a way that will help resolve construction skills shortages by matching training to future industry needs.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors is the latest high profile name to come on board and the first membership organization to join. As the official SkillsPlanner launch event nears (held at the Institution of Civil Engineers on February 24th), Designing Buildings becomes the newest industry medium to add to the buzz around the project
This taster video featuring project director Rebecca Lovelace, the full version of which will premiere at the launch, gives a concise overview of the SkillsPlanner project.
