Our work continues at Bayline as we look to make best use of the live occupancy data we’re generating from our 161 IoT sensors across Beddington Park in Sutton. As a Green Flag award winner, Beddington Park has been recognised for its environmental standards and the importance of this green open space in a busy London borough.
We’ve identified traffic usage patterns throughout the year and the data we’ve collected is helping Sutton council understand the thresholds above which congestion increases sharply, particularly on the single track road on the approach to the centre of Beddington Park.
But beyond understanding, our goal is to help Sutton manage congestion and ensure the park remains a pleasant destination for all visitors. So we need to keep as many visitors as possible informed regarding likely congestion. That can be sending our data, both actual and predicted, to local indicator boards.
Alongside this, we want to make our data available to all interested parties so visitors can plan their journeys around expected congestion.
So we’ve just rolled out a live parking map and occupancy indicator that all are welcome to embed their website from a single line of code.
