The Commons Fund
Projects Community
If you are interested in becoming part of the Projects community for The Commons Fund then this is the place to start.
Becoming a Project
To become a Commons Fund project it’s important to understand what is in scope and what is out for funding. It is also important to understand that in building the Projects community, we are building a peer-to-peer governance and every project will be required to participate in developing that governance, based on our CoP Principles and other governance and monitoring shown below.
IN scope
- Funding people at living wage for up to 2 years
- Teams of 2-12 people
- Global geographic scope
- Age 16+ (educational feeds are interesting to TCF. Teachers or supporting staff could be beneficiaries)
OUT of scope
- Too Early: Disaster / IDP / poverty / famine / short-term relief.
- Too Late: Non-seed funding, Large capital, scaling, commercial VC etc,.
Governance
- Only funding unique people (a tech to provide this)
- Monthly value exchange. (story capture and peer input, reviews, reporting to funders)
- Other “organisational” partners manage the outreach to actual beneficiaries.
